Marylou DiPietro is a poet, playwright, and artist. Her poems have been published in numerous literary magazines and she has collaborated with painter Mary Dauphinais, combining poems with multimedia collage art. Since receiving her Masters degree from Emerson College, several of her plays have been produced in theaters in and around Boston.

Ms. DiPietro brings her poetry to the visual arts. She creates "fiber art", knitting unique, wearable objects with a keen eye for color, texture, and design

DiPietro also brings her poet's sensibility and passion to mosaics, or "tesserae art". Her mosaic pieces include planters, vases, frames, mirrors, lamps, and tables. She has even built a magnificent mosaic wood-stove hearth for her studio.

Samples of Ms. DiPietro's work, along with paintings by Newton artist Emily Lamont, will be exhibited at her home for the open studio tour. She lives and works in Newton, Massachusetts and has an antiques shop and studio in Harrisville, New Hampshire.
