School happens, techniques are presented, ideas are fostered , interpretations are encouraged, expression or the truth of a moment is searched for. I hope I am saying something about something.

There is the hope to capture something, elusive as it might seem and relate to it from both the maker to the viewer. Stop and look. Life is passing so quickly.

I love the black line encasing color. Whether I am painting or drawing, my eye and comfort zone has always gone in search of the black line to complete something. My work tends to look cartoon like or flat sometimes primitive.

My attention is to the fleeting moment caught, whether it be the quick flash of a child in the “I got it phase” or a line of hopeful autograph seekers after the Red Sox game, or ernest musicians rehearsing, a mother cooking and talking on the phone and stirring the pot...saying something about something.

-Preschool Art teacher at The New Art Center in Newton. January 2000 to 2004
-Art Buddies, Inc. ran educational, interactive, theme oriented elementary art school
classes for 3 years with artist partner Patty Simon. Showed children's
work regularly at Newton Public Library Children’s Room and Newton’s
Festival of the Arts . 1995- 1998
