There is no separation between the artist and the art created…when you hold a hand-made object you are holding the minutes of the life it took to make it. Nowhere is this more evident than in the weaving of beads…bead by bead, minute after minute. A hundred years from its creation the piece continues to transmit the mind of its creator.
Erika studied metalsmithing with YashikoYamamoto at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and weaving techniques with Joyce Scott, Diane Fitzgerald and others.
She has been a member of The Clever Hand Artists Cooperative in Wellesley and has participated in many craft and arts shows including local community fairs, the Brickbottom Christmas Show, and numerous private shows. Her jewelry was featured at a trunk show at The Studio, in Brookline .
Erika grew up in Newton, and continues to reside here with her husband Jim, son Nick, and Daisy the dog.
