Joy Ink bloomed in 2001 when I was on maternity leave from my job (teaching 8th grade English) at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton. I missed the creativity of teaching, so I turned to a long-time hobby of making unique cards from a wide array of arts supplies. Joy Ink (named after my daughter, Leah Joy) became a great way to incorporate art and part-time work into my life as a mother. In 2002 I also began to create custom invitations.

This new aspect of Joy Ink allows me to work with families as they bring an individualized and imaginative tone to important events in their lives. I look forward to designing a new line of cards for each season and to working with other artisans around special events such as Newton Open Studios.
