As I am working from forms of nature, I feel clay is the medium most directly from the earth, and it is only fitting to use it to represent natural forms. I seek to take the beauty and elegance of the microscopic form and create a vessel with the same properties, a vessel that seems as if it was created by mysterious nature rather than the rational hand of a human. I make forms that are largely functional, but can stand alone with the strength of a sculpture.
