Diann Wilde
Works in oil: portrait, figure, landscape, still life
125 Herrick Circle Newton Center, 02459 Home 617-332-3866 dinahflo@aol.com
Diann Wilde is a painter, parent and teacher. She works mostly in oil, considering the landscapes of the figure and face as well as the interior and exterior world. Primarily self-taught, her paintings are based on direct observation of fleeting things that might be ordinary yet retain mystery: fruit within the peel; winter light at 4:30 pm; a held-back smile.
As parent and early childhood educator, she is fueled by the enthusiasm of children and their direct approach to artmaking, unhindered by preconception and self-doubt. She is inspired by a number of artists, among them Fairfield Porter, Edouard Vuillard, Jack Yeats and Eric Fischl. Her work has been exhibited in the Boston area and is in private collections.
Street address: 125 Herrick Circle on the campus of Andover Newton Theological School, off Herrick Road in Newton Center. The nearest cross streets are Chase and Braeland and the house is a two minute walk to the Newton Centre T.
