Susan Stone is a prize winning portrait and landscape artist. Her paintings have been shown at the DeCordova Museum, the Milton Art Museum, the Newton Free Library, and the Cambridge Art Association where she received an award from Cheryl Brutvan, Curator of Contempory Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Ms. Stone shows at the J. Todd Gallery in Wellesley. Her aim is to capture a precious moment - dramatic or introspective - in her portraits. Her landscapes capture the light and beauty of sunsets, water, flowers and trees. She has studied with Art masters Charles Reid, Daniel Greene, Burton Silverman and Robert Cormier. Ms. Stone's visual art career evolved out of a successful career in opera and education, widely recognized, and includes the Massachusetts Governor's Citation for educating many thousands of schoolchildren through music. Her paintings hang in many private colletions here and abroad.
